Monarchs News · Softball Splits DH at Regina

The Monarchs traveled to Regina High School to play the last league contest before the CHSL playoffs. In the second inning Holly Kimes lead off with a single and was brought in by a throwing error to score the first run of the contest.

Regina came back with a run in the 3rd to tie the game up. In the fifth inning, Wyndhem Reid scored on a Michaleigh Vallimont sacrifice fly ball to take the lead. Mackenzie Noah lead off with a single in the 6th, Brooke Turner, courtesy runner, scored on a Wyndhem single. In the seventh inning, Michaleigh Vallimont added some cushion with a solo home run to put the Monarchs up for good 4-1

On the mound Mackenzie Noah picked up the win giving up 2 hits, 1 ER and had 12 k’s.

In the second game, the Monarchs held an early lead on a Mackenzie Schick single followed by an RBI single by Michaleigh Vallimont and an RBI by Vivianna Gonzalez.

However, Regina came back in the fourth inning with 5 runs to take the lead. The Monarchs added a run in the fifth inning on a Michaleigh Vallimont single and an RBI by Gonzalez and then another run in the sixth on a Hannah Lipka single and a Mackenzie Schick RBI. The Monarchs left six players stranded on the bases in route to 7-4 loss in game two.

The Monarchs now return back to Regina High School for the first round of the CHSL playoffs on Wednesday at 4:00 pm.
