Girls Varsity Softball · Softball Wins Glen Lake Tournament

In game one of the Glen Lake Tournament the Monarchs faced the home team, the Lakers. The Lakers scored first with a 2 run home run, the Monarchs answered back with one in the bottom of the first.  In the fourth inning, Mackenzie Schick drew a walk then scored on Michaleigh Vallimont’s home run.

In the fifth inning, the Monarchs exploded for 9 runs.  Emma Delcotto was 2 for 3, Michaleigh Vallimont 2 for 3 with 5 RBI’s, and Caleigh Muglia went 1 for 2 .

Vivianna Gonzalez was on the mound and had 7 K’s and allowing only 3 hits.

In game two, the Monarch faced Traverse City St. Francis. The Monarchs took a comfortable lead scoring one in the first inning, and 4 in the 3rd inning. The Monarchs scored 3 more on a Michaleigh Vallimont 3 run home run to go up 8 – 0.

The Gladiators mounted a late attack in the bottom of the 6th scoring 6 runs. The Monarchs held on in the 7th to win the tournament.

Mackenzie Noah had 6 K’s and scattered 12 hits for the win. Noah also went 2 for 4 from the plate.  Caleigh Muglia, Mackenzie Schick, and Wydhem Reid all went 1 for 2. Holly Kimes was 2 for 3.

Michaleigh Vallimont was named MVP for the tournament with 2 home runs and had 9 RBI’s.
