The Monarchs brought eight swimmers and one diver to the two day event and everyone performed at a level near or above their season best. It was a fantastic day to be a Monarch!
The weekend started with Grace Sabo placing competing in the Diving event on Friday. On Saturday morning the swimmers took the stage and began the day with the 200 Medley Relay team of Elizabeth Krawczyk, Joe Misovich, Adam Hamid and Evan Trohimczyk turning in a performance that had Misovich and Trohimczyk scoring PR splits. In the 200 IM, Samantha Henney set a new school record by besting her old mark by nearly a second. Henney also swam a season best time in the 500 Freestyle.
In the 100 Butterfly, Joe Misovich turned in a PR time that was over a second faster than his seed time. The 200 Freestyle Relay team of Evan Trohimczyk, Joe Misovich, Thomas Day and Adam Hamid destroyed their season best mark by over five seconds with Misovich, Day and Hamid all turning in PR splits and Trohimczyk besting his earlier open 50 Freestyle time. Next, Elizabeth Krawczyk bested her season record time in the 100 Backstroke.
In the final event of the day the 400 Freestyle Relay team of Adam Hamid, Cate Day, Rachel Pauline and Thomas Day bested their seed time by over five seconds. The effort scored a PR split from each of the four athletes. At the end of the two day event, the Monarchs had 14 season best performances from 19 total entries. It was a great weekend to be a Monarch!
